December 15, 2010On the moveI'm sure by now you've heard that the Glendale, Arizona, city council has approved the Jobing.com Arena lease deal with prospective owner Matthew Hulsizer. With that, it now appears imminent that the Coyotes will remain in Arizona for years to come (although there's talk that the team may change its name to the Arizona Coyotes). Although the Coyotes will be staying in Arizona, I will not be. Earlier this month, I accepted a new job in Jacksonville, Florida, with a company that I am very excited to be working for. So after more than 12 years of calling the Valley of the Sun home and rooting for the Coyotes, I will be departing a week from Monday to start my new adventure in Florida. What does that mean for the future of the Hockey Uniform Database? Simply put -- it'll be business as usual. I will continue maintaining and updating this site as I've been doing for the past decade. Going to hockey games, though, will be more of a challenge. Not only is there no NHL team in Jacksonville, there's not even a minor hockey team there. The closest team is the Tampa Bay Lightning, and that's at least a 3-1/2 hour drive from Jacksonville. Well, at least it'll give me an opportunity to take a road trip or two and explore my new home state. Have a great holiday season and a happy new year! |
