September 29, 2012The WHA uniform website is redoneI know it may have seemed to you that I abandoned the WHA uniform website -- after all, it's rather tough to update a website about a league that went out of business over 33 years ago as of the writing of this blog post. Well, being the fact that I might be updating the NHL uniform website for quite a while given the latest work stoppage, I decided to refresh the WHA site's look to more closely resemble the NHL site's latest design. So now, I am pleased to present to you the all-new WHA Uniform Database! The look I went for with that site was one as if the site was designed in the 1970s if the Internet existed back then. As with this site, the frames and banner ads are now gone, and each season includes some tidbits about that season. One thing I did not include on the new WHA site is a team-by-team history. Given the fact that the league lasted only seven seasons, and with many franchises lasting only a portion of that, there was simply not enough variance within each franchise to make a team-by-team history feasible. Instead, I did a timeline of franchises, featuring all the away jerseys, so you could see how those jerseys evolved and how the makeup of the league evolved over its seven-year history. And if you're a former WHA player/coach/administrator/season ticket holder, be sure to e-mail me your memories so that I can include them on that site I hope you'll take some time to check out the all-new WHA Uniform Database! |
