lost conference semifinals
  The Capitals faced the Pittsburgh Penguins at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh in the 2011 Winter Classic on New Year's Day, winning 3-1. They wore replicas of their first home uniform -- complete with red pants -- with the Winter Classic patch on the right shoulder. (For the record, the hideous white pants the Caps wore in their hideously bad inaugural season were only worn with their red jerseys -- and they only lasted a handful of games.) They also wore them (sans the patch) on Turn Back The Clock night February 1st as they lost in a shootout to the Canadiens, 3-2. |
