  The Penguins wore a patch celebrating the City of Pittsburgh's 250th birthday. On January 1, 2008, they took on the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL's Winter Classic at Buffalo's Ralph Wilson Stadium, wearing a modern adaptation of their 1968-71 uniforms. The Penguins won in a shootout, 2-1. |
