1967-68
Oakland Seals
6th place, West Division out of playoffs
The team was known as the California Seals, and their crest reflected that monicker. When the team's name changed to the Oakland Seals on December 8, 1967, the ends of the "C" on the crest were closed up. Also, their original home green jerseys featured blue numbers with white trim. Fans in Oakland, small in number as they may have been, complained that the numbers were difficult to see. Around the time of the crest change, the team rectified that by overlaying a white twill number over the existing blue numbers, creating the double outline effect.
