  In the first half of the season, the Oilers wore a patch celebrating the Province of Alberta's 75th anniversary. The patch disappeared when the calendar turned to 1981. At that same time, the Oilers broke out slightly different jerseys, with one-color names on the back and sleeve numbers that didn't extend into the sleeve stripes. |
