New Jersey Devils

1982-92
When the team moved for the second time, it changed its colors to red and dark green. The crest featured a stylized "NJ" with devils' horns and tail. Overall, the Devils' look has changed very little in the years since moving to New Jersey.

1992-2007
In 1992, the Devils made their only major change to their uniforms to date. They replaced green with black and slightly redid their stripes and shoulder yoke. The look remained the same for nearly a quarter century, right down to the letter and number fonts.

2007-17
The Devils carried over their uniform design to the new Reebok Edge uniform system. When everyone else was having fancy unveiling parties for their new Reebok Edge uniforms, the Devils issued a press release saying no such event would take place, since there's nothing new to see.

2017-21
When Adidas took over from Reebok, the Devils made significant changes to their uniform design for the first time in a quarter-century. Most notable, the tail stripe was replaced by a thin black trim at the base, and the width of the bordering sleeve stripes was the same as the middle stripe. The latter was done in tribute to the team's predecessors, the Colorado Rockies, whose sleeve stripes, albeit of different colors, had similar dimensions.

2021-present
More than a quarter century after the NHL launched its alternate jersey program, the Devils finally introduced one. It's a black jersey inspired by those worn by New Jersey professional hockey teams of the past. The jersey bears a very striking resemblance to the Blackhawks' 2019 Winter Classic jersey.

Special Event Uniforms

2010-17 Heritage Uniform
2014 Stadium Series

Starting in the 2009-10 season, the Devils would wear replicas of their green-trimmed original uniforms to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. They also wore this uniform in their 2014 Stadiun Series matchup against the Rangers at Yankee Stadium, a game which they lost. 7-3. The Devils eschewed the radical designs of the other teams' Stadium Series uniforms, insisting on wearing their throwbacks instead.

2018-pres. Heritage Uniform
Starting with the 2018-19 season, the Devils changed up their Heritage uniform to their white one, which they would wear a few times per season.

2021 Reverse Retro
The Devils swap red for green and vice-versa on their throwbacks in their Reverse Retro uniform.

2022-23 Reverse Retro
For their 2022-23 Reverse Retro uniform, the Devils re-color their original white uniform in the colors of their two predecessors, the Kansas City Scouts and the Colorado Rockies.

2024 Stadium Series
The Devils go with uniforms completely devoid of white in their Stadiumn Series matchup against the Flyers at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
