1924-25
The Bruins opened their NHL history wearing these brown uniforms. These would last only one season.

1925-26
The Bruins changed to a predominantly white jersey with wide brown and gold stripes for their second season.

1926-31
The striping pattern changes again, with brown becoming more predominant. This was the uniform the Bruins wore when they won their first Stanley Cup in 1929.

1931-32
The socks change from white to gold.

1932-35
The Bruins ditch their bear logo for a brown block "B" on a white jersey.

1935-38
Black replaces brown, and the "B" on the front of the jersey gets relegated to the sleeves, with the player's number going in its place. Suddenly the jersey has an identity crisis -- it doesn't know whether it belongs in hockey or football. Also, the pants become black, fully color-coordinating the team.

1938-40
The sleeve and tail stripes change patterns, as does the shoulder yoke. Stripes are also added to the pants. And the stripes on the socks would change to a pattern that would last nearly three decades.

1940-44
The Bruins introduce a new gold jersey to be worn for select games, and the numbers and letters on the white jersey change to gold with black trim.

1944-48
The gold jersey from 1940-44 is retired.

1948-49
To celebrate the team's 25th anniversary, the Bruins introduce the spoked "B" logo as their anniversary logo. It's hard to see, but in the middle horizontal spoke on the left is the number 24, and on the right is the number 49. Also, a new black jersey is introduced.

1949-51
The numbers inside the wheel go away, the "B" in the middle becomes a block letter, and it would stick around in one form or another ever since. On the black jersey, the shoulder yoke becomes gold and the tail stripes change.

1951-55
Additional stripes are added to the ends of the sleeves on the white jersey.

1955-57
A new gold jersey is introduced, and that becomes the team's primary home jersey. The black jersey gets new stripes and the spoked "B" logo.

1957-58
The black jersey is eliminated.

1958-59
A slight change to the sleeve striping on the gold jersey, and numbers are added to the sleeves. Also, the team introduces gold pants which are worn only on a few occasions.

1959-65
Stripes on the gold jersey become much thinner, and a new black jersey is introduced.

1965-67
The black jersey goes away. These were the jerseys Bobby Orr wore in his rookie season of 1966-67. He originally wore number 27 before switching to his legendary number 4.

1967-68
Just in time for expansion, the Bruins perform a complete overhaul of their uniforms. The gold jersey gives way to a black jersey, and white socks are worn with both the black and white jerseys. The pants from previous years carry over.

1968-69
On the white jersey, there's now a white space between the end of the sleeve stripes and the black sleeve ends, and the pants now have a single solid white stripe.

1969-74
The black jerseys now come with gold socks, and this would be the set worn by Bobby Orr when he scored the famous overtime goal to win the Stanley Cup for the Bruins in 1970. For 1973-74, the neck changes to a V-neck, eliminating the laces.

1974-76
The contrasting shoulder yokes go away on both jerseys.

1976-77
The team's new secondary logo, a bear's head, makes its debut on the shoulders in the middle of the 1976-77 season.

1977-81
To comply with the NHL's new mandate, names are added to the backs of the jerseys beginning with the 1977-78 season.

1981-95
The stripe on the pants is eliminated. The numbers would undergo minor tweaks during the course of the 14 years the Bruins had this look.

1995-2006
The Bruins introduce new uniforms to coincide with the opening of their new arena, then known as the FleetCenter (originally going to be called the Shawmut Center until Fleet bought Shawmut out). The set also features a gold alternate jersey. Ray Bourque would leave the Bruins in 2000, but the look would stick around for several years afterwards.

2006-07
The gold jersey is eliminated, and a vintage jersey based on their 1967-74 black jerseys becomes the new alternate jersey.

2007-08
The Bruins redesign their uniforms when the league switches to the new Reebok Edge uniform system. The "B" inside the wheel now has serifs for the very first time, and a new alternate logo adorns the shoulders.

2008-16
The league reinstates the alternate jersey program after a one-year hiatus, and the Bruins use the occasion to introduce a new black jersey featuring their alternate logo on the front. Black socks are worn with this jersey, marking the first time in team history that it has worn black socks.

2016-17
The uniform that the Bruins wore in the 2016 Winter Classic proved to be so popular that the team made it its new alternate uniform for the 2016-17 season.

2017-19
The Bruins make a few changes to their uniforms when Adidas takes over for Reebok. The trim is no longer gapped on the numbers and home nameplates. The nameplates undergo a minor font change. Most notably, the stripes on the socks match the sleeve and tail stripes for the first time in franchise history. And for the first time ever, the primary black jerseys are paired with black socks. Also, like all other alternate jerseys, the Bruins' alternates are retired -- at least for the time being.

2019-23
Just as they had done in the past for one-offs, the Bruins reach back to the 1940s as inspiration for their new alternate uniform.

2023-present
The Bruins introduce new uniforms to celebrate their 100th year in the NHL. The primary home and road uniforms feature a metallic gold, while the alternate, which will be worn in select games against Original Six opponents, is essentially their 1970s uniform in their original brown and gold color palette.

1991-92 NHL 75th
The Bruins chose their 1934-36 jerseys to wear as the NHL celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1991-92.

2010 Winter Classic
The Bruins beat the Flyers in overtime, 2-1, while wearing this uniform at Boston's Fenway Park.

2016 Winter Classic
The Bruins hosted the Canadiens in the 2016 Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The Canadiens beat the Bruins, 5-1.

2019 Winter Classic
The Bruins traveled to South Bend, Indiana, to play the Blackhawks in the 2019 Winter Classic. The Bruins won, 4-2.

2021 Reverse Retro
The Bruins introduce gold versions of their 1980s/early 1990s uniforms for the Reverse Retro series.

2022-23 Reverse Retro
The Bruins' pooh bear jersey was one of the NHL's very first alternate jerseys. It is back as part of the league's Reverse Retro program, this time in white.

2023 Winter Classic
The inspiration for the Bruins' 2023 Winter Classic uniform was the uniforms they wore in the 1950s and 60s.
